September
September always comes with that back-to-school feeling, a soft reminder that autumn, and routine, are around the corner. This year, I’m really trying to lean into it: trying new habits, setting small goals, and bringing home little pieces of holiday (like slower mornings and phone-free nights) to make the transition feel less like an ending and more like a reset. I kind of look at it as my New Year, there is less pressure around it, and a softer meaning.
When I was away this summer, I realized how good it felt to not constantly have my phone in my hand, so I’ve picked up my book each evening. I’m currently enjoying Anbody Out There by Marian Keyes, its a story about love and loss, which moves gently, so the perfect evening read.
I was sent a new Medik8 Pro-Collagen Peptide Cream (thank you, Medik8), which has changed my skin regime for the better. It’s light and fluffy but deeply moisterising, and anti-wrinkle - not sure what more I could ask for. I thought about getting botox for the first time the other day, but this cream seems to be doing all the right things for me to put it off for a year or so more..
It’s a transition of seasons in London at the moment, one day it still feels like a long mid-summers day, where others its cold and wet, so I’m taking each day as it comes but I definitely have a few pieces I am wearing on repeat, as well as a few new bits of course.
THE MOOD LIST
FROM MOOD TO MINE
THE MOOD, SERVED
Some of the best tapas I’ve ever had. It’s also Alcaraz & Nadal’s favourite restaurant and a rumoured date spot for royalty. Order the croquetas, patatas bravas and the baked avocado. Oh - and the crispy salmon bites. All to die for!
I had lunch here - honestly I am going to be honest and say it is very overrated, I wouldn’t go again.
I’m not really a pasta person, I don’t know why I just find it quite a dull meal? But my goodness this was beyond delicious. Probably the only restaraunt I would go to and order pasta. The pesto and ragu were sensational. I also love the art in there - they have a Jack Penny, who’s one of my favourite artists.
Quick, easy and absolutely delicious, feels like you’re in an American diner! They’ve opened dangerously close to my house..
THE MOOD I LANDED IN
Taoromina, Sicily
We took ourselves to Sicily for a friend’s wedding and found ourselves in the impossibly chic town of Taormina, you might recognise it from White Lotus Season 2. It’s the kind of place where you can happily lose hours wandering through cobbled streets doing some retail therapy before ending up at one of the beach clubs below. It truly feels like living the Italian dream.
