October

October was mostly spent battling the flu — not my most glamorous month, to say the least. Still, there were some lovely highlights that made up for it: a much-needed stay at The Newt in Somerset and some precious family time that felt like the perfect reset.

I’m still making my way through Anbody Out There by Marian Keyes (it’s a long one!), and continuing to focus on those new habits; aiming for 12,000 steps a day, meal-prepping, and just being a bit more mindful about what I eat. I’ve also been trying to make more from scratch rather than relying on store-bought, mainly to steer clear of all those unnecessary preservatives. And because I’ve always got a sweet tooth, I’m (slowly but surely) working on cutting back on refined sugar - emphasis on working..

THE MOOD LIST

THE MOOD I LANDED IN

This month marked three years with my love, oh, how time flies. Three years on, and I can confidently say we’re still very much in the honeymoon phase. Obsessed would be an understatement.

To celebrate, I was whisked away to The Newt for 48 hours of pure relaxation. We began the day exploring their endless gardens before stopping for a long, lazy lunch. After a slow afternoon in our suite, we were taken for cider tasting, everything made on-site. I’ll admit, I’m not usually a cider person and was quietly dreading it, but it was honestly delicious… so much so that we left with four bottles in tow.

Dinner that evening was a beautiful three-course affair in the main house, followed by a blissfully deep sleep. The next morning, we took a long walk across the grounds to get our steps in before one of the best treatments I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a fair few). A ‘Best of Both Worlds’, part massage, part facial, it was truly divine. We’ll definitely be going back.
